Competition

NAME THE APPLE!

The Forty Hall Community Orchard are launching a competition to name a unique variety of apple at the Enfield Food Festival.

Recently their apples were sent for apple DNA fingerprinting as part of The fruitID.com project, organised by the world-renowned research organisation NIAB-EMR in Kent and it was discovered that unusually, there was no known ID for one of the oldest trees in the Orchard, so, they get to name it.  The volunteers are asking the community for their suggestions and the winner will be announced at the Apple Fair in October.  Not Appley McAppleface!

Come to the Orchard on Sunday at 11.30am when Pete Brown, author of the Appple Orchard will be chatting about apples and we'll launch the competition.
